Gordon Lightfoot - Back Here On Earth (1968)

Gordon Lightfoot is a Canadian singer-songwriter.

Following the release of his third album in early 1968, Gordon Lightfoot undertook a brief trip to England where he was inspired to write enough material for another. This trip was followed by performances in L.A., San Francisco, and Washington D.C., as he was becaming increasingly popular in the US. He then went to Nashville to record the new material, with just the accompaniment of guitarist Red Shea and bassist John Stockfish. Back Here On Earth was released in November, making it his second album of '68. It presented another collection of typical Gordon Lightfoot folky singer-songwriter material, though noticeably more stripped down compared to its predecessor, without any string arrangements or other such embellishments. One of the songs, "Bitter Green", was a minor hit in his native Canada, reaching #44 on the singles chart.
