Joan Baez - One Day At A Time (1970)

Joan Baez is an American folk singer who was an important part of the early 60s folk music revival.

Baez’s fantastic 1970 album One Day At A Time continued her use of the country sound she first utilised on David’s Album, with plenty of seasoned session musicians behind her. It contained some fantastic covers, including “No Expectations” by the Rolling Stones, “Ghetto” by Bonnie Bramlett, “Seven Bridges Road” by Steve Young and the country classic “Long Black Veil”. It proved her as equally competent as a song interpreter in the field of country music as she was in folk. Importantly it also contained the first of Baez’s own song writing efforts - "Sweet Sir Galahad". Three of the songs were duets with folk singer Jeffrey Shurtleff.
